Requirements for inclusion of wine in VOC Znojmo

Wine-maker has to be a member of the VOC Znojmo, o.s.

Only varieties of Sauvignon, Rhine Riesling, Valtelina Green and their cuveés are allowed

Grapes have to come from registered vineyards

Grapes reach sugar content at least 19° NM

Yield must not exceed 2,5 kg per a bush

Grapes are picked manually only

Wine bottles can used only cork seals

“Barrique” methods are not allowed

Wine mustn’t be made by long-term maturation on yeast muck

Apple-milk fermentation is allowed

Residual sugar in wine is allowed up to 25 g/l

An alcohol content in wine is limited to maximum 13,9% of content

Wine must show typical receptive characteristics for the Znojmo wine-growing sub-region

The VOC marking brings clear information to customers. The most important mark that identifies every bottle is a strap around a bottle neck.
